Nitai Hershkovits
Born to a Moroccan mother and a Polish father, Nitai began his musical journey on the clarinet at age 12, though he soon discovered a passion for the piano at 15. It was around this time that he was first exposed to the music of jazz legends like Wynton Kelly and Sonny Clark.
By 17, Nitai had studied privately with jazz educators Amit Golan and Yuval Cohen while also attending regular school. His interests broadened to include a rich variety of classical and jazz music. For two years, he delved into classical music theory under the guidance of renowned composer and educator Dr. Menahem Weisenberg, as well as classical music educators Shoshana Cohen and Amir Pedorovits.
Nitai moved to New York, where he lived from 2015 to 2022. This experience solidified his decision to make the move and continue his musical growth. Since 2023, Nitai has been an ECM recording artist.
