Can one still find musical beauty in a world torn by war, cruelty, and greed? Personal freedom in a home shattered by violence and racism?

In ‘the smoke detector’s lullaby’, pianist and composer Assaf Talmudi opens a sad and whimsical musical universe, full of slightly distorted memories of jazz, classical, grunge, and out-of-tune television soundtracks.

Joined by Guy Ben-Ami on drums and Uri Kutner on bass and production, the trio offers their own twisted take on the classic piano-trio format, a style they call Freak-Jazz.
