Pianist-composer Assaf Talmudi’s latest creation, “Just the Tails and Whiskers, WO the Boring Parts in the Middle,” is true to its name: graceful, playful, and sly. A slippery piano riff grows into a clattering burst of synthesizers, with mischievous bass by Uri Kutner and prog-like drums by GuyGuy, before retreating to it’s transmuted hushed main motif. Talmudi is a musical shapeshifter, evolving and transforming within a single track that’s anything but boring, dreamwords woven through it, a true work of art: transcendental, touching and inspirational.
